i was drying my hair today and it struck me suddenly...
{my blog... is like that one scene in 'Hedwig and The Angry Inch"}

For those that haven't seen the movie..
You Are Missing Out.
Seriously!
even my husband.. who is grossed out by gay things
but in real life might have a thing for effeminate men
(I know this this because he GUSHES over Brain Molko- Placebo's Lead Singer)
totally loves.. or kinda loves.. or at least loves to watch this movie
and plays the song "Origin of Love" every time he is drunk ;)

any way it is a great movie.. in my humble opinion..
and getting off track here what I mean to get across
is that ..

there is a scene in the movie where Hedwig is playing
to a very small crowd.. in a deli.. the song is fantastic.
One of my FAVORITES..
however the only people watching are the few in the deli..
they're not really paying attention..
just having some coldcuts.. and maybe a sodee..

it occured to me that iam like Hedwig.
and ONLY in that way
(because I am not a transsexual punk rocker.. )

my blog is just one a a trillion..
and I only have 18 followers..and I think probably only maybe 5... or 3 of those
followers actually 'follow' me.

In some far off way I am like Hedwig singing to those 4 folks
having a bite of sammich.

OK-
I really having some sewing to do..Just had to get that out of my head..
its been swimming in there ALL DAY!!

are inspired by tutu's.. and so I am calling
them Tutu Skirts

I know I've done the purple stripe before but this one
is without the lace... a little different look this way!

This blue and yellow with lace one is MY FAVORITE!





Now that these have all sold and are about to leave my
house I need to get crackin on some more!

the TUTU Sweatshop!

Ok ... I have 4 more to go..and I WILL FINISH them tonight
and have them in the mail in the morning..
if you've wondered why it's been quiet over here..
now you know why ;)
I am going to photograph all of them once I am done
and have them looking all pretty.. but for now here is a little peek!

Road Trip

Such a pretty place we found today.
Last time we tried to venture this direction Michael
got pulled over for speeding and we turned around
at the booth where you pay.

Today we drove right into or onto... this gorgeous little island.
turned out perfect... got some great pictures..
and ... then..
Izzie..
he didn't want to get out of the water..
(and getting into the water wasn't really the plan anyway..
but how do you keep these kids OUT OF THE WATER?!
You Don't.)
and so the next 45 minutes or so were hurtful to my ears.
but we made it back.. and it was a fun little trip.
having Michaels family here is really nice
I will be sad to see them leave.

My Husband Went To Vegas And All I Got Was This....

yeah so Michael went to Vegas to meet his family
and escort themback to our lovely home..
and he brought back some funny gifts for us all..
except the kazoo for Lola was kind of a bad idea..
anyway.. mine was tiny ...and I assume VERY cheap..
BUT I LOVE HER!
I was just thinking to myself the other day..
that I need/want to make some baby shirts that say
I heart Zombies.
and so yeah.. now I totally am going to!

here she is.. watching over all my sewing from here on out..
or at least until one of the kiddies find her.




OH, and Izzie got some glasses...

An Adult Tutu -ish creation

I made a skirty tutu for Ashley over
at Ashley's Bookshelf to review for me.

I must say big tutu's are harder to make than small tutu's
(duh, right?!)

OK so I did my very best and didn't even get mad
when I couldn't get the elastic to go through and had
to use my seam ripper in a few places.

I REEEEEEEEALLY hope she likes it..

Made something for myself...

I think I might be going coo-coo-crazy with all the tutu making..
Tonight I wanted to make something for myself.. because I rarely
do.. I chose a fabric that I like but wouldn't be upset about if I totallywrecked.. then once I cut out the skirt I wanted to make the tutu bug
came over me ..and I threw a silky polka dot layer under the main skirt
and added mini poms and pleated ribbon!! FER REALS?!?! yep..Totally off my rocker...

When I was almost done and holding it up to give it a good look Maisie
says "OH MY GOSH IT"S HUGE!!" ok.. thanks Mais.. mama is huge..but we don't need to say it out loud.. or at least THAT LOUD!! :)
I am decently happy with the results.. I am wearing it now..
I might look like a clown.. or a crazily dressed homeless person..
It is comfy though.. and cute.. in an odd way.

I have to say that I was totally inspired to make something for myself
by my good friend Natalie over
at Hungry Hippie ... she made the most amazing peasant dress with petticoat..
GORGEOUS..

The TuTu THEIF!!

I stayed up into the wee hours of the morn making
a cutesy pink cupcake tutu.. and this morning
a little girl was wearing it...
It wasn't meant to be hers.. but how do you take
a tutu away from a little girl?!

The Start Of MANY TuTu's!!

At first I didn't like tutu's very much..
.. I don't know why.. I guess because it seemed everyone
was doing it... and I don't tend to like to go along with the crowd..
Then the tutu drive came along and the little girl inside
me couldn't help but make one ..
AND NOW!!!!
I can't stop!

I went to a place.. bought some.. er TONS of stuff.. and am
now on a TUTU MAKING FIT!!
What little girl doesn't like a tutu?!
So I have one or a few for the tutu drive.. and of course one or a few for my
little girls.. and then maybe I will take some to a craft show
and try to sell some... It seems as though I am keeping
more than I am willing to let go of these days though.

OH WELL!!
Here is Lola showing off the first of many :)

It isn't SUPER tutu-ish.. but stay tuned for the
awesome tutu materials that I brought home this evening..
I told little dorkes to make pretty faces... and as you can tell
by the second one.. she makes REALLY pretty faces!!
